Arrival in Marseille
Welcome to the South of France. Check in, settle in, and meet your fellow travelers. As the sun sets over the Mediterranean, we’ll walk to Malmousque for an apéro by the sea, followed by a cozy homemade dinner and our first night out together.
Islands, pétanque and a private dinner by boat
Start the day with a boat ride to the Frioul Islands — swim, wander, and soak up the sun. In the afternoon, dive into Marseille’s oldest neighborhood, Le Panier, then play pétanque like a local. As evening falls, we head to a private island by boat for an unforgettable dinner with sea views.
Calanques, hidden coves & sunset aperitive
We venture into the Calanques de Sormiou — raw cliffs, turquoise water, and lunch at a secret cabanon. In the afternoon, we head to the fishermen’s village of Les Goudes and sip cocktails at a special place, where the sea meets design. Back at home, we gather in the kitchen to cook together — using fresh ingredients we’ve picked up from local markets. Afterwards, we head out for a night in bohemian Cours Julien.
Aix-en-Provence and Luberon
We start the day exploring the streets of Aix-en-Provence — from hidden squares to elegant cafés. Then we head to the Terrain des Peintres, a viewpoint where Cézanne painted Montagne Sainte-Victoire, and revisit the landscapes that shaped his work. In the afternoon, we enjoy a wine tasting at Château La Coste. Then we drive into the Luberon and check into our local accommodation, close to the village where Freya’s parents got married. We end the day with sunset and dinner.
Market day in Cucuron & Roussillon's ochre trails
In the morning, we head to the traditional Tuesday market in Cucuron to pick fresh, seasonal ingredients. Back at the house, we cook and share a relaxed group lunch — a slow, hands-on experience that brings everyone together. In the afternoon, we drive to Roussillon, one of the most colorful villages in Provence. We walk the Sentier des Ocres, an ochre trail carved through red and orange cliffs, and explore the village’s charming streets before returning home for a quiet evening.
Verdon Gorges, Lac de Sainte-Croix & Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
We head east for a full day in nature, crossing the Valensole plateau and its vast open views en route to the Gorges du Verdon — Europe’s largest canyon. The day begins with paddling or boating on the turquoise waters of Lac de Sainte-Croix, followed by lunch by the lake. In the afternoon, we drive the scenic Route des Crêtes and visit Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, a cliffside village known for its ceramics. We spend the night in the Verdon area, surrounded by silence and nature.
Cassis & Calanques d’En-Vau
Today is all about nature and adventure. We head to Cassis, a beautiful coastal town surrounded by cliffs and vineyards. From there, we hike to reach the iconic Calanque d’En-Vau — a hidden cove with crystal-clear water and towering limestone walls. It’s the perfect spot for a swim and a picnic. In the evening, we return to Marseille for a relaxed dinner and one last night together in the city.
Slow morning & farewell lunch
We ease into the final day with a relaxed morning. Later, we gather for a farewell lunch to share memories, smiles, and one last taste of Provence. After lunch, we assist with transfers to the station or airport, as you head home with new connections, unforgettable moments, and a deep sense of Mediterranean inspiration.
